Celebrating 20 Years
Victory in Utah

In an election year riddled with voter discontent, a humorous, yet hard-hitting radio campaign provided common sense messaging to help Utah voters decide the Republican primary race between attorney Mike Lee and businessman Tim Bridgewater.  We created two :60 radio ads combining humor with hard-hitting facts. The ads ran within the last two weeks leading to the primary.

Mike Lee, son of Reagan administration Solicitor General Rex Lee and a first-time candidate for any office, narrowly edged businessman Tim Bridgewater by roughly 4,000 votes for the Republican nomination for the Senate seat held by three-term Senator Bob Bennett, who failed to get enough votes at the state Republican convention to get on the primary ballot.

“Our messaging capitalized on the public sentiment to elect candidates who were not part of the Washington system of earmarks,” said Design4 Marketing President and Creative Director Clint Cline.  “The fact that Tim Bridgewater was a former lobbyist who built a business based on getting federal earmarks for his foreign clients provided us the fodder we needed for a sharply pointed message – delivered with humor.”
