"Wink Wink" Kansas Radio

It's not wise to be disingenuous with smart voters!

A neck-and-neck race emerged in an otherwise crowded Republican primary field for the open 4th Congressional District seat in Kansas, encompassing Wichita and south-central Kansas. The battle between businessman Wink Hartman and Mike Pompeo centered on statements made by Hartman about his Kansas residency that appeared contradictory.

Hartman claimed that “I never left Kansas and I never did move to Florida,” despite having both a Florida drivers license and voter registration – concrete evidence of Florida residence. He has also claimed to be 100% pro-life yet the facts show that – as a Wichita City Commission candidate – he suggested providing public tax dollars to fund the world’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, hardly a pro-life position.

Hartman’s claims simply didn't line up with the evidence, so Common Sense Issues asked Design4 to help publicize the inconsistencies with a series of radio spots airing throughout the District.

“The voting public is not in a mood to give politicians a free pass any longer,” said Design4 Marketing Communications President and Creative Director Clint Cline. “When politicians are being inconsistent or, at worst, disingenuous, voters want to know. In an odd kind of way, this campaign is really a public service.”

The Agency has created two :60 radio ads “with a few more ready to go as necessary,” Cline added, before the August 3rd primary.
